The day that it ended,
it tore my heart out.
But I knew that it was right
and you deserved better then me.
So I kept my mouth shut
and told the lies you needed to hear.

I know I fucked up and I know
that I made mistakes, but oh

The pictures are still in the album,
which sits in it's old place, for
me to pull out once and again. To
look at our night of lights, where
you bought me that stuffed animal
even though I told you not to. Where
you held my hand as the wolf
touched the glass, right there in front of us.

The letter and poem are still there,
for me to pull out and read. To
remember our love and high hopes.
To remember our newfound happiness,
although it's all disappearing now.

Seeing you with them, with her,
tears me up and it's all I can do
not to tell them your mine;
because...you're not.
So I'm not saying a word as
I watch you moving on. And I
pray I can hold up the facade to
indulge your euphoria.

And for tonight, I'll curl up in my now
empty bed, and clutch that silken
stuffed animal to my chest as it
heaves with silent tears. And I'll
cling to your scent that is no longer
there. Because now, I will set you free
and I'll stay silent.

Silent with the fake promise to myself.

Of never admitting my love for you, to you.
